Student Blogging Challenge – Week 8: Let’s Reflect!

Well all good things must end and here we are…

Please complete the following:

Audit Your Blog

1st: Write a post on your blog reflecting on your participation in the challenge.

Please be sure to answer the following questions in complete sentences and in detail:

  1. How many weeks of the challenge did you participate in?
  2. How many posts did you write in the 8 week period?
  3. How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers, or other visitors?
  4. Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why?
  5. Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog?
  6. What are your plans for your blog now? Will you keep posting?

2nd: Write a separate post about how you might continue to keep blogging:

  • Perhaps you’d like to publish a list of ideas you have for future blog post topics.
  • Or, you could ask your readers for suggestions on what they’d like you to write about on your blog. You could even run a poll.
  • Write about anyone you have connected with throughout the challenge that you’d like to stay in touch with. Are there any blogs you’ll keep reading and commenting on?

3rd: An assigned student will navigate around your blog and answer the following questions as a blog comment to you:

Please be sure to keep all comments school appropriate, polite and give constructive, honest feedback.

  1. What were your first impressions of my blog?
  2. What captured your attention?
  3. What distracted you on the blog?

Student Blogging Challenge Week 4: Free Choice or Catch Up

Happy Halloween Week!

It seems this has been a week long celebration with all the dress-up days in support of Red Ribbon Week!

I tasked my students this week to locate a scholarly article related to their blog theme and provide the link in their blog. After reading the article, each student should provide a summary along with their own personal thoughts in regard to the article.  They will be peer reviewing 3 other students post and leaving constructive feedback.  We had a conversation that a great article could spark some controversial thoughts but that they should have open, curious minds and a willingness to hear new ideas.  They might learn something new!

Be sure to complete the Week 4 Google Form
